Myra enjoys sculpting both people and animals. Figurative work is usually sculpted in clay from life then transformed into the finished pieces which often feature fabric effects and different tones when the bronze is patinated. Myra is fascinated by animals and their interaction and there is often an intended quirkiness about her work.
Some pieces are fired, most are moulded and cast in bronze resin, and are usually suitable for display indoors or out.
Before taking up sculpture Myra studied silversmithing, fabric design and printing and since then has been taught classical sculpture techniques by Val Adamson. She has been exhibiting successfully since 2015 and is, unexpectedly, following her father’s footsteps.
