Elsa Thring

I began sculpting about 25 years ago at classes in London, and then joined Rosamund De Tracy Kelly’s classes at her studio near Bicester in 2010, after I moved out to the Cotswolds. I’ve continued to work with Rosamund, but also sculpt in my studio at home.

I’ve always worked in clay, and until recently, my interest has been in the human body, mostly the female form in various poses, but also head portraits. My sculptures have then either been cast in bronze at Lockbund Foundry or, for the smaller pieces, in bronze resin. In the last year I’ve branched out and begun sculpting my Labrador!
