Jon Williams

Jon Williams

Jon was born in 1969 and as a child loved drawing and messing about with clay in the garden. At the age of 15 he encountered the head of his local art-school and in a blinding revelation, realised that ‘art’ could be a job!  He studied in Swindon and then Bath, his experience culminating in a First class degree in ceramics and 3D design.

Whilst at Art School he met his future wife and fellow potter Sarah Monk and in 1994 the pair moved to Herefordshire and founded Eastnor Pottery.  Current practice includes delivering clay workshops to the Arts, Education and Business. As well as working with groups and individuals at his studio, he travels all over the West Midlands and beyond working with people of all ages and abilities, exploring and developing their creativity via the medium of clay.

Jon regularly works in early years settings, schools, children’s centres, libraries, art galleries, businesses and with prominent organisations.  He is an experienced exponent of the potter’s wheel, using the technique in both his social engagement practice and personal work. His work of ceramics and clay interventions have been exhibited extensively in the U.K and abroad.
