Lucille Scott

Lucille trained at Hereford School of Blacksmithing and works as an artist blacksmith creating hand forged metal items inspired by nature and her love for dance and music. Lucille explains the appeal of working with iron lies in the fluidity of the metal and the ability to freeze movement in time. In addition there is the traditional role of blacksmiths, the permanence of the work and passing on the tradition to all around them. Much of her work was originally inspired by her love of colour but an aversion to painting metal led her to decide to add colour by using other mediums. The work is made in collaboration with other artists using crafts that naturally provide colour. In 2019 she started to fuse glass herself to allow her to extend the unique range of sculptures she creates and admits there is …..so much fun to be had!
